No Longer Orphans

Rom 8:15-16
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out,”Abba, Father.”

When you were born in the flesh you cried. It was the only way you knew how to express your great need. Your parents then responded, and met those needs. If you’ve been born again in the Spirit, you have not known to cry. Like an orphan, you’ve never known a father or mother to answer. You found your own comfort.

Gal 4:3-7
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

If Jesus Christ bore you through His own blood on the cross, you are His child. Learn to cry.

John 14:18
“I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.”
