“But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine.” Jer 44:18
The people blamed their losses on their service to God. “As soon as I started following You God, I lost everything I wanted.”
They did not recognize the hand of a Good Father…who often must take, in order that He might bless our latter end.
