I feel better when all my children are under my roof. There is an indescribable comfort that comes from having them in my care and protection. It’s a craving that is curbed by necessity, but it doesn’t go away.
I’ve looked for opportunities to protect them outside the nest. I like to bring them food, take care of some laundry, pamper a cold, hear about the tiny(wonderful) details of their life, and cheer them on.
But, I’ve missed a step. A big step.
Protecting their faith.
While I was busy with their happiness and comfort and all things temporary—their soul went hungry and uncovered.
The children of God do not thrive because they are protected from danger and need. They thrive, because though they live far from home, their faith abides under His roof.
“I sent to know your faith.” 1 Thess 3:5
